DWM1004C Obsolete?

Hello,

I have unfortunately missed the boat on acquiring the DWM1004C Eval kits. I am very confused on the availability of this module.

Per this Decawave forum post, DWM1004C Module, “Kits will be available thru Digikey… Mass production parts are due in October.”

Per Digikey, https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=DWM1004-ES, “Part Status: Obsolete”.

When will these be available again? Why is it marked as obsolete?

Hi Birryboi,

The DWM1004C has entered mass production, it is definitely not obsolete ! I think it will be available with distributors very shortly.

Please note the mass production product is the module only, not the development board + module. So you may have to make a custom board to host the module.

Decawave is looking at the best way to provide a host board to customers but this is not ready yet.

The DWM1004-ES (engineering samples) that was a module + a dev_board will not be further stocked with distributors, and this is why deigikey marks it as obsolete. But the module itself will be stocked very shortly.

Is there an update on when we will be able to purchase the DWM1004C? I want to buy a few for our TDoA project.

The modules are available on digikey, https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/decawave-limited/DWM1004C/1479-DWM1004CCT-ND/11200003

But they are not development kits, they are the castellated via modules only.

As of August 2020, Digikey shows DWM1004 as Discontinued.

Also, I have hard time finding a distributor stocking other DWM1001* modules.
Are they currently available anywhere? Perhaps in Europe?

We have a Covid19 related research project, looking for ~50 modules for our tags. Any suggestion for where to find them?
