Uwb dwm3001cdk with adaptor

Hi everyone,
I have two Qorvo CDK3001DWM devices. They work fine when connected to a PC via USB. However, when I unplug them from the computer and connect them to a regular USB power adapter (5V, 2A), they don’t power on or seem to work at all.

I have a few questions regarding this:

1. Do these devices require only power via USB, or do they also need data communication with the PC to function?
2. Is there any special setting or hardware modification required to run them from just a power adapter?
3. My goal is to run these devices without a computer—just by plugging them into a wall socket using a USB adapter. Is this possible? like this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFp52BzD1WA&ab_channel=KevinVincentTan

Hi, @youssef ! Thanks for that! I just figured out what was happening, I was looking for low-power functions inside both USB and UWB code, but it was actually the HFCLK. The HFCLK is used by the USB driver, the nrf_drv_clock_hfclk needs a request for each peripheral/resource using it, USB has a request, but UWB doesn’t. The nrf_drv_clock_hfclk is set like only USB is using it and when USB releases it stops. The solution is to add a new request for UWB: In main_cli() look for BoardInit(), it c…

Replying to your questions, no USB data required, you can use the CLI commands to define the starting app and power it as you prefer, but, as you experienced, the implementation has an issue. If you apply the fix, you can use it as shown in the video.

I understand the logic behind the solution, but I’m not sure how to actually do it — which file I need to modify, and how to upload it to the sensor. I’m sorry, I’m new to this.
