I would like to know how the mdek1001 update rate would affect the precision. Does it matter if I choose 5hz or 1hz? Thanks.

Update rate only affects the interval between two TWR operations of the tag. Each TWR operation is independent. However, with higher update rate, user can apply their own algorithms to smoothen the track. E.g. using average or filters. For these application layer add-ons, higher update rate may help the output track look better.
