Can the UF3C065030K4S device be used for synchronous rectification in a bidirectional DC-DC converter, similar to how a MOSFET allows current to flow in reverse through the channel when it is on, instead of through the body diode? If it can, is the reverse conduction performance the same as the forward conduction performance?
Sure, this device can be used in the application condition you mentioned. The current can flow reversely in both ON and OFF situation. When the MOSFET channel is OFF, the current will flow through the MOSFET body diode and the JFET channel; when the MOSFET channel is ON, the current will flow the MOSFET channel, the MOSFET body diode and the JFET channel.
When the MOSFET channel is ON, the reverse performance is almost symmetrical as the forward performance. When the MOSFET channel is OFF, it will have difference, because for the MOSFET, the current will only flow through the body diode.
Please pay attention to our datasheet, especially the SOA curves. No matter what the application is, the current and voltage should be within the SOA ranges.
