Hello,
I am currently evaluating the TQP7M9106 for a 200 MHz application, with the goal of obtaining approximately 2 W output power.
Based on the datasheet, I expected performance around P1dB ≈ 33 dBm. However, in my current evaluation setup, the amplifier saturates at only about 25 dBm output, which is significantly lower than expected.
I have attached the current schematic for reference.
My current observations are as follows:
-
Small-signal gain (S21) at 200 MHz is approximately 19 dB
-
Gain compression begins when the input power reaches around +4 to +5 dBm
-
When the input power is increased to +10 dBm, the gain drops to about 15 dB
Could you please help me understand:
-
What could be the main reason why the output saturates around 25 dBm?
-
Are there any recommended matching network changes or bias-related adjustments for operation around 200 MHz?
-
Are there any known limitations or considerations when using the TQP7M9106 at 200 MHz compared with the datasheet reference conditions?
Any suggestions to improve the output power and overall amplifier performance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your support.
