Tag out of ranging range of anchors

Hello,

We are using battery powered tags. The current consumption of a tag is really low when it can range to anchors in its UWB network, ranging rate is low, and responsibe mode disabled.

However, we found that the average current consumption of a Tag which is out of reach of anchors (far from UWB network) is about 1.3mA: it will consume about 140mA during 0.56s, each 60 seconds. So, in average it is about 1.3mA.

As 0.56 seconds seems to me a lot of time to determine if there is any UWB anchor arround, I would like to ask if this time can be reduced somehow. If this time span, 0.56s, can be reduced, battery powered tags will not waste its capacity. For our application, this is a critical parameter.

Any help in reducing average current consumption of tags far from its UW network is wellcome!
Best regards

Hi

Could you explain a your setup?
Is your system based on DW1000, DWM1000, DW1001, DW1001-DEV based design?

/Leo

Yes, sorry, we are using DWM1001.

Thanks, Leo

Any more comments, Leo?
