I’ve worked with other forums. I’ve found that many of them have the ability for the original author of a post to tag a reply as a “Solution” to the issue put forth in the first post. They also allow for the moderator to tag a specific reply as a “Solution” if the author didn’t.
Additionally, these forums give extra points to contributors who get their reply tagged as a “Solution”. These extra points add to their expert level status.
I’ve found a tagged “Solution” to be useful to others searching for an exact or similar solution to check out that posting.
These forums can also allow the forum user to filter for “Solved”, “UnSolved” and “No Replies”.
