With the DWM3000 closing in rapidly, should I rather consider it for a new design? I have the MDEK1001, and am slowly growing confidence in the 1001, so I’d prefer to stick with it - but on the hand, if I’m going to have to change at some point, I might as well jump now.

that’s depends on your needs. DW1000 is well proven and there are a lot of examples around and and PANS is available for DWM1001. For DW3000 is sill only a few examples but it have new bonus features like CH9, FIRA compatibility, lower power consumption, NI and etc.
