Hello everyone.

For a positioning project I need to calculate the distances with TOF and RSL and compare them. However, power levels do not vary much with distance. I am using DWM1001.

Hi Dan,

How do you measure the power levels? In LOS conditions, the power level will decrease 6dB when you double the distance.

Hi Emre,

I am using the formula from section 4.7.2 of the DW1000 user manual. My intention is to calculate the propagation index ā€œnā€ for an indoor scenario, but the calculated value is less than 1. And it should be greater than 1.

Using RSL power may not be that accurate for the calculation of the propagation index.
I would suggest using a laser distance measurement tool to measure real distance and compare this info with TOF.
