Got a shiny new box with RFFC5071A evaluation board. When I connect it to USB and start the RFSlice software, I get these messages
Did you install the USB drivers from FTDI? D2XX Drivers - FTDI
After installing restart PC. Then when UM232R is plugged into PC check in ‘Devices and Printers’ and it should show up as ‘RFMD Slice II’ device.
If you see this error window below just ignore and press retry. (Happens on some PCs for some reason, not sure why. I think it’s related to timing through to the USB drivers and serial interface.)
Hope this helps. Let us know if you still have problems.
I see the device with the name in ALL CAPS
Still see the error, like the device name should be in normal letters.
If I press Retry it does seem to connect, and looks like the device is available, I’ll investigate this further.
OK, thanks. Not sure why it is in all capitals, haven’t seen that before.
Worth noting that when you start up the GUI it first tries to readback the device id. So you need to have the board powered up and USB connected when you start the GUI.
Occasionally I’ve seen the links on header P1 come loose, so worth checking these are all connected ok.
