QSPICE Schematic Capture Averaged Buck Converter Model

For this week’s QSPICE schematic capture, we have one from our friend Professor Marcos Alonso and his recent book, available here. This QSPICE schematic models the averaged small-signal response of a PWM buck converter for audio susceptibility analysis. By using an averaged switch model and sweeping input disturbance frequency, the circuit reveals how ripple and noise on the input affect output regulation across frequency.

Why simulate it in QSPICE? QSPICE makes it practical to analyze complex switching power systems with exceptional speed and convergence. Using averaged models, engineers can study loop behavior, input susceptibility, and stability in seconds rather than minutes—accelerating optimization long before hardware is built.

Or @marcos.uniovi may have different definition for it?

I think this schematic screen capture refers to getting a small-signal averaging response for audio susceptibility. In QSpice Help, under .bode additional note 3, Mike said that

But this particular screen capture is not an averaged switch / PWM switch model. However, I guess it is material that will be covered in Prof. Alonso’s book, as his YouTube tutorial covers the averaged switch.

Yes, this is not the averaged model. This is the full converter circuit. Averaged models are shown in the book and also in the YouTube Channel’s videos.
