For this week’s QSPICE schematic capture, we have a circuit simulation built by our friend Morad Tamer, a senior ECE student. This simulation showcases a discrete MOSFET gate driver design, the key feature being cost optimization at the expense of bootstrapping capabilities. MDriverV2.3.qsch (18.3 KB)

Look at how bad the emitter junction is in the second stage. It is not rational to use the 1n4148 diode to accelerate the shutdown of the pulse transistor. It is better to use a Schottky diode.

Hello
I’m the one who made this.
Thank you for taking the time to review my design and for pointing out the critical oversight. I sincerely appreciate your insight and feedback.
I’ll carefully address the issue you highlighted and will update the design with a more thorough analysis.
If you have any further suggestions or recommended resources, I’d be grateful to hear them.
Thank you again for your help
