QSPICE Forum Schematic Capture "Composite Audio Amplifier"

For this week’s QSPICE schematic capture, we have “Composite Audio Amplifier” by frequent audio circuit simulation contributor Michael Kiwanuka, from his “An Analytical Approach to Linear Audio Frequency Power Amplifier Design: Selected Papers,” 4th Edition. Please send any submissions to me at tim.mccune@qorvo.com (Schematic Capture Post #026).

Why would someone go to such trouble of a massive discrete design? I have used complimentary-symetry designs which have at most 7 BJTs and work quite well.

Please educate us.

All in good fun. Friend Nelson Pass designed a “Beast of a Thousand JFETs” that someone ended up building, link to a paper on that below. I run old McIntosh tube stuff, though most of the world has moved on from such things. https://www.firstwatt.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/art_beast.pdf
