Hello
I am using an old laptop running win10 32bit. It is installed in my personal lab and primarily intended for carrying SMPS simulations. In this machine LTSPICE XVII runs well but I would like to test QSPICE for comparative basis.
So my question is: Do QSPICE developers plan to release a 32bit application for those who own old PCs like me?
Clearly I am not the developer.
However, I believe it will be very hard to justify making another version for a super niche user
My friend do something like that:
- Install QSPICE on another friend laptop/computer with WIN 10 od 11 64 bit in folder C:/QSPICE.
- Use 7-ZIP to archive that folder on your USB pendrive.
- Upgrade your laptop with more RAM.
- Install Oracle Virtual BOX for free and Guest plugin.
- Install in Virtual BOX new WIN 10 64Bit instalation from your pendrive.
- Copy from your folder with unzipped files to C:/QSPICE
- Start Virtual Box to use it.
- After ca 3 month Qspice require update and stop working without update, so, go to your friend, install QSPICE update, do archive, copy on pendrive…
His Windows 7 works like a charm with QSPICE in virtual machine with WIN 10 64 bit - and he is very angry, that so good software like QSPICE is blocked to use only on nasty unsecure Windows 10 or Windows 11 64 bit.
