QPB9380 TDD Front-End: Tx Reflected Power Handling

Hi, we are planning to use the QPB9380 in a TDD front end:

  • Tx: ANT1 → Load1 for reflected power measurement
  • Rx: ANT1 → RX_OUT1 for the Rx chain
  • Tx power: 39 dBm average, 10 dB PAPR (49 dBm peak)

Could you please confirm whether the ANT1 → Load1 path is safe under full reflection and the maximum allowable power? Also, is the LNA protected during Tx at this power?

The QPB9380 was designed for this type of operation. It will cope ok with the powers mentioned. The LNA will be protected as long as the QPB9380 is switched to TX mode when the PA is on.
What do you mean by full reflection? Do you mean for example an open circuit at the antenna port of the circulator?

Yes, exactly. By full reflection, we mean an open-circuit condition at the circulator’s antenna port, with the TX power fully reflected back toward ANT1.

Our TX power is 39 dBm average, with 10 dB PAPR (49 dBm peak).

Thanks for the clarification and support.
