Power consumption during idle state

Recently, I did a power consumption measurement during a typical TWR cycle on the DWM3000, once with channel 5 and once with channel 9. I realized that the power consumption with channel 9 in comparison with channel 5 is not just during the TX/RX states higher but also during the idle state. Can anybody explain these results?

Of course, higher frequency means higher power consumption, but why also during the idle state?

The DW3000 DS details the power consumption for the various states. See figure 30 for example

This is for CH5. CH9 IDLE PLL is higher (18 v 32mA) and there are other numbers shown in table 5.
