I would like the absolute minimum resistance possible using my Qorvo JFETs. To that end … What gate-source voltage is recommended for “overdriving” the JFET gate to reduce on-resistance?
It is helpful to think of limiting the current into the gate instead of setting a specific gate-source voltage, especially because the JFET gate-source diode’s forward voltage changes with temperature. To keep gate drive power reasonably low, the gate current should be in the milliamps to tens of milliamps range. Set the on-state gate resistance according to the positive gate drive voltage, which is typically in a range from 2 to 15 V.
