Maximum distance QM33120WDK1

I’m using QM33120WDK1 kit to trace the location of my decide using iPhone. I’m curious what is the maximum distance that this kit has been tested or claimed for between anchor and tag?

Hi @gaurav,

The maximum distance is dependent on a number of factors including regulatory limits, RF environment, channel, physical interference, etc.

However, I have seen 20+ m using an iPhone to range to the QM33120WDK1 kit.

ok, thanks Akash!
But with the best design implementation(short preamble, fast baud rate, custom antenna etc) is it possible to achieve 100m of coverage through Anchor?

To a phone, 100+ m is not possible today due to limitations in UWB performance that we have observed from the smart phone manufacturers.

If you are developing your own system with both an anchor and tag, 100m might be at the borderline of what is achievable with a really optimized RF design including antenna, LNA, PA, etc. It also depends on the size of frames being transmitted as smaller frames can benefit from higher TX power for high link budget. The channel of operation is also important.
