Kindly help me to suggest the UWB Antenna

Kindly help me to suggest the UWB Antenna Interface should we have to use matching N/w for UWB. please share the matching network and topology for UWB Antenna.

Choice of antenna depends largely on the application and size of the device.

The DW1000 chip has a 100Ω differential RF interface, to connect a single ended antenna, a wide-band balun is required. Recommended components for Balun and antennas are on page 39 in the DW1000 datasheet.

The DWM1000 module has both the balun and antenna integrated and might be a good starting point for development.

Actually most of UWB antennas are designed to match 50 oHm already, It means that no additional matching network needed. The three key reasons are:

  1. UWB antenna bandwidth is large but not difficult to achieve due to frequency is high.
  2. Additional matching network will involve loss then decrease the radiation efficiency
  3. Additional matching network will cause group delay as well to impact positioning accuracy.

As above, antenna plays vital role in the UWB application and alternative Ultra-wideband or UWB antennas are available in market, a small form factor antenna is preferred due to it can save your PCBA space and minimize the inference when you implement multi- antennas.
