How to use the QM33120WDK1 board for 360 degree functionality in localisation using two-way ranging and Angle of Arrival measurement

We need to Develop an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) based locating system that can determine a position using just a single infrastructure device by leveraging angle
This approach can significantly reduce the number of necessary infrastructure devices, leading to more cost-effective deployment. The system should be developed using modern UWB chips that support AoA via phase measurements, enabling a minimal size for the antenna configuration. Accurate 360° angle measurements will also require a suitable antenna design. The developed prototype should demonstrate the 2D localization of a mobile device using a single infrastructure device equipped with multiple antennas.

Hi @Debanjanab ,

The QM33120WDK1 is only capable of performing 180 degrees AoA and comes with a two-element directional antenna array. You could also use an omnidirectional AoA antenna but in this case, you would need to solve the front and back ambiguity because there will be two positions that you would get the same AoA.

Kind regards,
Emre
