Hi,
I’m developing an RTLS solution for my company that is intended to monitor at least 2,000 tags. During my testing, I’ve noticed that some devices stop reporting their location after a period of time. The DWM1001 modules appear to stop functioning and do not resume normal operation until they are restarted.
My setup is as follows:
- DWM1001-DEV boards running DWM1001_PANS_R2.0.hex
- Jumpers J14, J15, J16, J6, J17, and J18 were removed according to the “DWM1001 Battery Lifetime Estimation” document to minimize current leakage.
- Tag configuration:
- UWB Active
- Update rate: 1 second
- Firmware update: enabled
- BLE: enabled
- Responsive mode: disabled
- Location Engine: enabled
- Stationary Detection: disabled
- Approximately 40 anchors distributed according to the scaling rules described in the “DWM1001 System Overview” document.
- Tags powered by 18650 batteries at full charge.
So far, I have validated the system with 50 tags. After one day of testing, the system stopped receiving position data from at least 15 tags. These tags became operational again only after being restarted using the reset button.
Is this a known issue with the DWM1001 or the PANS firmware? Are there any known causes that could result in the modules becoming unresponsive after extended operation?
Any suggestions on how to debug or identify the root cause would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
