Hi experts,
Could you please provide some information regarding the CMD182C4?
The datasheet includes performance characteristics based on the use of an external IF hybrid.
However, specifications for the IF pin and the external IF hybrid are not provided.
What is the impedance of the IF pin?
The datasheet only contains performance data assuming the connection of an external IF hybrid; could you provide data—such as S-parameters—that reflects the characteristics of the IC itself (standalone)?
Additionally, could you please specify the part number of the IF hybrid used when the data in the datasheet was obtained?
Best regards,
The datasheet plots on bottom of page 7 and on page 8 are taken without the IF hybrid. The IF port return loss is better than 15dB below 2GHz, it does degrade as you go up to the specified limit of 3.5GHz. Sorry I haven’t yet been able to find the part number of the IF hybrid used for the original testing. Get back to you if I find out.

Hi Chris_LS-san,
Could you provide any additional information?
The customer is unsure how to select an external IF hybrid, as the specifications for the IF pins (such as impedance) are not clearly defined.
Could you offer some design guidance regarding the IF circuitry?
Best regards.
There are many commercially available 90deg hybrids that could be used with the CMD182C4. It depends on the IF range needed in the application. Mini Ccts QCN-25D+ and QCN-45D+ have been used on application circuits for other Qorvo IQ mixers. TTM Tech Xinger also have a good product range of 90deg hybrids. The phase and amplitude balance will effect the image rejection of the mixer, so these are important parameters. There is an Image Reject Calculator Tool in the Qorvo design hub that may be useful.
