Clarification on CIR Samples in ACC_MEM

Hello,

I have successfully retrieved Channel Impulse Response (CIR) data from the DW1000’s ACC_MEM, as shown in the figure below. However, I would like to confirm whether the samples in ACC_MEM represent the actual channel impulse response or the received UWB signal.

As I understand it, the received signal is the convolution of the transmitted signal with the channel impulse response. Given this distinction, I want to confirm that the samples stored in ACC_MEM correspond specifically to the CIR and not the received signal.

Hello, what is in ACC_MEM is the Estimation of the Channel Impulse Response but it does the job. You can get only the points around the First Path (around point 740 here), and do your CIR analysis (First Path, Peak Path, NLOS, Multipath…).
