Can Qspice be configured to auto save the schematic every time I run the simulation? I failed to save my ckt and lost lost eveything I had done when Windows forced a reboot of my system!
I would up-vote this
Yes, it happened to me too, a few times, due to windows crashes.
The only reason to not auto-save would be to be to allow temporary changes.
But why, since its easy to undo changes…?
I run a different software package that auto saves new date stamped files every time you make a change, it effectively has unlimited undo. At the rate I use the program (daily) it will take years to move the needle on the hard drive free space plot. Why not have auto save for schematics? why not save the schematic to a new file every time you run a sim? Or every time you make a change?
Yes. I just lost a schematic that I had spent quite a while perfecting, I know that this is my ‘fault’, but pretty much everything I use has a way to recover stuff, so I have fallen into complacency, it seems.
I would very much like an auto-save, or some other recovery method. Saving the schematic, and ‘archiving’ previous saves somewhere, would be fabulous. Even if recovery requires some external file management shenanigans.
Even a basic ‘save whenever a sim is run’ would avoid a whole heap of grief. It would also force (in a helpful way) naming the schematic early in the process.
