Hi, the operating frequency of the TGL2217-SM is specified as 100 MHz–20 GHz. However, the insertion loss and return loss plots in the datasheet do not appear to degrade towards the low frequencies. The provided s-parameters start at 500 MHz, so they don’t give any information below 500 MHz.
Does the limiting function still operate below 100 MHz? What determines the lower frequency limit of this device?
Thanks.
There is nothing limiting the TGL2217-SM low frequency response, the internal networks are low pass. With this in mind the s-parameters should hold up down to the MHz range. The attached s-pars are for a typical TGL2217-SM eval board, reference planes at the coax connectors. Large signal then the PIN diodes should work well also down to the MHz range, but this has not been tested on the TGL2217-SM. Note Qorvo only guarantees performance down to 100MHz as stated in the datasheet.
