Retired embedded systems engineer.
Designed first embedded system in 1977 using wire wrapped CD4000 logic.
First programmable board in 1980 using the Motorola 6800 uProcessor programmed on paper.
Throughout the 90’s, boards based on the 8039/49/51 uControllers programmed in assembler.
Then moved to PIC10/12/16/18/24’s and 32’s for that last 20 years programmed in assembler and later in C.
Recently moved to STM8’s and 32’s programmed in C.
Also many embedded systems without a uController.
Worked a decade for a small company designing Oil Field Controls.
Worked a decade for a fortune 500 company designing controls for kitchen ranges.
If you own a Kenmore, Frigidaire, Tappan, KitchenAid or Electrolux range, you may have some of my handiwork in your kitchen.
I’ve used Protel, Altium and OrCAD when the employer was buying and now I use KiCAD.
I do not write Windows, Linux or Andriod code.
All for now
