Is there a difference in the DW1000 of different years of production?

Hello!

Is there a difference in the DW1000 chips of different years of production?
I have an offer to buy chips produced in 2014 and I’m afraid that there may be some significant differences from more modern chips.

Best regards,
Karim

Hi Karim,

The 2014 Silicon should be Rev E.

The silicon currently shipping is revision E. This is clearly marked on the package on Row 4.

Row 1: Pin1 Designator Device orientation
Row 2: Customer Name DECAWAVE
Row 3: Customer project name DW1000
Row 4: DW1000 part number W228E*-1N
*DW1000 silicon revision identifier. In this example the revision of the IC is “E”

See page 4 --> https://www.decawave.com/sites/default/files/dw10000_errata.pdf

Thank you. Tell me please, is version E the latest version of the chip?

Unfortunately those chips produced in 2014 has a revision “C”.
Is it worth using them now?
Where can I find information about the differences between the “C” and “E” rev.?
