First time configuration of DW1000 IC

Hello,

We have DW1000-I-TR13 IC (purchased on digikey) on our board and we are having issues with board bring up. Our doubt is that the DW1000 IC is not completely configured.

Question :

  1. Are DW1000-I-TR13 IC configured end-of-line, at production / does the IC come with basic firmware?
  2. We also have a EVK1000 board. Does the DW1000-I-TR13 IC need any additional configuration to function similar as in EVK1000.

Hi,

The ICs as they come from the product line have a couple of default settings and RF configuration like, channel 5, preamble code 4, mode 2, 6.8Mb/s and more. See default settings section in the IC User manaul.
Other then that, the chip should work provided the PCB has no issues. Just use the basic examples we have to test your PCB design with the EVB1000.
